Franklin Township Accident Kills 1, Injures 4

Franklin Township police are reporting that a Franklinville woman was killed and an adult and three children were injured in a car accident involving two vehicles on Thursday night. The accident occurred when a 28-year-old Franklinville woman was driving a 2005 Chevy Cavalier on Delsea Drive by Grant Avenue around 6:30 p.m. The driver crossed into the northbound road, crashing into an oncoming 1994 Dodge van. The woman was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the van, a 41-year-old Franklinville male was trapped in his vehicle as a result of the accident. He was extracted from the vehicle by Franklinville Fire Department aides and airlifted to Cooper University Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained in his head and leg. Three children were passengers in the van who were also taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. Information regarding their injuries and conditions were not released. An investigation into how the accident occurred is currently ongoing, as details regarding how the driver lost control of the vehicle are not currently clear.
